Back Acne
Back acne can be extremely embarrassing. Nobody wants to
have acne at all, let alone on the back. For men it can be
embarrassing going shirtless if they have back ance issues.
Many women who like wearing backless dresses or halter tops
will find it practically impossible with back acne. Not only
does back acne embarrass and limit sufferers but it also has
physical negatives. Back acne is known to be painful when
a cyst forms (called cystic
acne). The lesion or cyst is usually sensitive to the
touch and agonizing in particular positions. Back acne may
not be as easily seen as facial
acne but can be very painful.
How do we get back acne? What can be done to treat or prevent
it? Back acne is often found on the back or on the buttocks.
When extra sebum is manufactured, pores and hair follicles
become clogged, inviting excess bacteria which leads to acne.
Although there is no scientific evidence for what exactly
causes back acne there are many factors that can contribute
to it. Tight form fitting clothes that do not allow a person’s
skin to breathe is thought to be part of the cause of back
acne. General living, working, exercising, or simply sweating
on a hot day can cause your skin to produce extra sebum, especially
if constant washing is not practiced. This can cause acne
on your back. Heavy backpacks being worn daily is also a possible
cause of back acne. The friction of the backpack rubbing against
your clothes and skin can result in a serious irritation that
can promote the production of back acne. If you must have
heavy backpack, keeping your skin clean will help prevent
back acne flare-ups.
People with long oily hair often suffer from back acne. The
hair touching the skin of the back adds extra oil which begins
clogging, resulting in back acne (can also be considered a
part of body
acne). It is important to keep your hair off of your back
especially if you have long oily hair. Stress, diet, and heredity
can all play a role in back acne. Watching your stress levels
and maintaining a healthy diet can prevent back acne most
of the time. If you have back acne it can be treated usually
with a benzoyl peroxide cream or gel or a multitude of other
acne
cream products.
